Does Integrity Matter To You As a Business Owner?

My father says, "It's your salt. It's who you are or who you are not!"

So let your 'yes' be your YES and your 'no' be your 'NO'.

What about you? Have you seen a decrease or an increase in integrity among the people you deal with every day?

I would be very surprised to find someone who would say it doesn't. I think the bigger question is whether or not people live by that standard. I know a lot of people (owners and employees) who tout the importance of integrity and sincerity, but their actions with their customers, vendors, coworkers, etc. do not reflect the values they espouse.

ABSOLUTELY!! Integrity is the Heart of your Business regardless to what it is. Without it your business will NEVER get off the ground. People don't join businesses they join YOU!! And if you're not a person of Integrity, they will not join you period. It's as simple as that. And even in everyday life, if you're not a person of integrity; you will Walk Alone because that's what people want even in relationships: someone who Values Truth and are governed by internal values that will not allow them to do others wrong; even when no one is looking. Someone said "Integrity or Character is WHO you are when no one is looking"

Since integrity is no longer demonstrated in a lot of homes, kids are growing up without it. It then carries over into life. There's definitely a lack of it and it certainly is damaging in the workplace. Warren Buffet always said that when you hire someone you should hire someone that first has integrity, then intelligence and then energy. Never hire anyone without the first quality.

Of course Integrity matters to me personally as a business owner and in life.

The definition of Integrity is: "The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness."

If you don't provide "honesty" or have a "moral" set of business code to employ on your customers, then you won't have high customer retention. If you are in a competitive industry, customer retention is extremely important for the lively-hood of your business.

I see an increase in integrity as people gain success.

Only if you want to stay in business.

"The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively."

Bob Marley

Integrity is everything. How can you trust anyone who doesn't have any? And if you can't trust someone you'd be a fool to do any business with them.

As far as society as a whole goes, I find it unnerving that it seems integrity seems to be going out of fashion.

YES, Integrity is crucial to all business-persons who are in it for the long haul.

Integrity is key to everything in business and to me as a business owner. We cannot have social transformation without it. I assist my cliensts in making a remarkable increase in profit margin and social impact. You cannot do all that without integrity.

Anyone running a business without integrity is really just minding the store until it goes broke.
