I would start promoting to those individuals or businesses that you’ve already establshed an ongoing relationship with and ask for their assistance in reaching out to their network of possible customers. Also, a suggestion would be to go to companies that provide home care services for seniors or skilled companies that provide a skill level to people within their home arena. These companies provide skill level nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and CNA‘s and caregiving staff for seniors in their home and would need to be certified or recertified.
When I was the Captain on a private business jet, each pilot was CPR/AED certified. And got re-certified once every two years using in person classes.
Why? (This is where you need to think this out for your application)
-better insurance rates for the company -bragging rights for the company when owners had choices -story telling of one incident for YEARS -use of the fear factor- 'what would you do if...' -10 other similar emotional reasons
You have a 'product' that is a service. You have to market it the same way as everyone else. Think of something else in your life you have purchased. You did it because you saw the benefit to YOU.
Depends on the discipline that you're offering certification for to start. If only pertinent to say one individual which would have a specific title or function in a business, then there would be a industry specific site to explore and mine for marketing opportunities. Otherwise if this is something more generic and could pertain to a larger portion of the company then Chief Operating Officers would be my target.
I would make a flyer, brochure and attach your business card go to the offices and solicit in person services. You can also do a mass email and fax as well
Hello
Danielle, Does being certified have value in the particular profession? What kind of value? Is it peer-to-peer or is it required by some law or regulation? Should you be targeting businesses directly or should you be targeting working professionals in a particular field. I would suggest using email. It is inexpensive and easy to do. Here is where you might be able to find some additional help. Click here: LEADFUZE
Danielle, find businesses that specialize in your certificate. Research online for companies on your field. If you have a printer and enough ink, you have your own advertisements already. Use PowerPoint to make a well organized flyer and print in draft color- this saves ink! Put your certificate/use and list what you are looking to do. Its all about price and how many will use your service(s). Its a lot of mental work. Also send messages on company websites, check for the owners info and email them directly, send to HR as well. Get your skills to all those in important positions in the company. Let them know you are current, reliable, punctual, and ready to work. Good luck
Figure out what you do different and better than others in th CPR Certification World?
Step 1: Put together a short video or series sharing that and place them on a simple but clean opt in website (aka a funnel).
Step 2: List down 50 business's you would like to work with.
Step 3: Connect with their HR/Excutives/Owners (Depends on the Size). Connect on LinkedIn or even Alignable offer value, have coffee with them, share what you do. Also this is when you can share the link to your information/email sign up page. With that email sign up you will also want a follow up series of emails.
Focus on building momentum and remember always offer value and sell when necessary ;)!

What kind of certification classes? What type of business could best use the certification?

Hope that helps.
