It's all about the "Wow." Impress who shows up with good food, congeniality, and service. Encourage them to return with friends and family. Post a discount or promo every now and then, and if you are any good and the prices are right. you should slowly grow into a successful business.

If you have low peak times when you need more customers then here is a solution that can help. We are seeking local destinations to send people who want to raise money for their cause by teaming up with their friends to eat at your restaurant, shop at your business or buy your service.

Offer SmallGyft gift cards as a reward to your customers for buying from you. SmallGyfts are a donation to you customers favorite cause. They pick the cause. You get the credit. This is a structured approach for giving back that allow you to attract new customers and reward your loyal customers.

Amazon uses this approach to encourage Nonprofits to send them customers. Some of you may have already be doing this but we can put this on autopilot so you can focus on what brings you joy, serving your customers and growing your business.

Growth is not a be all end all. There is nothing wrong with small. If you provide a good product at the right place and time your business will grow organically.

Social media is really a big help, so is adding delivery when things are up and running. But mostly, have a quality product and an efficient and happy staff. Customers like a good vibe. Train and treat your staff well and give them responsibilities and freedom. Provide a cozy atmosphere, that does not have to break your budget. Make sure your place is always clean. Word of mouth will spread.

you work 14+ hours a day, do all your own laundry, bring in 2-4 suppliers and without compromising the product let them have a price war, and keep your advertising to the local papers. what you would pay for a small slice on a page with the giant circulation add magazines you can get a whole page, color, and still keep a presence w/ the locals who will ultimately make or break your business.

Strive for good customer service, high quality food, and clean place. Then take an  aggressive approach in social media....IT WORKS. I've seen my numbers grow after 6 successful years.

After 23 years, we're still here, with no advertising budget at all.  Not a penny.  Even got Yelp in their free listing for businesses.  But mostly, for us, it was 'word of mouth'.  Even A-List actors from the U.S. manage to find us when they're in town.  The key is to buy the building you're in, IF you can.

Word of mouth, works for us.When customers are happy with their meal and servers they will recommend to family and friends.Being consistent with every plate you make, servers and cleanliness.

Unless you love the food biz unconditionally .Get out while you can.You will not see a profit for 1-3 years. Family and friends will be a luxury.Vacations ? Maybe after 4 years a weekend trip to Vegas. If you decide your all in and love the excitement, ups and downs etc.Than you are the lowest paid longest hour employee.Pit your purveyors against each other for your business.Pay attention to quality, Use all  the free social media out there to promote your restaurant. Be there to see your customers, remember there name when they come back and keep an open mind to others menu ideas. Keep up with current marketing trends that others are paying big money for TV advertising and do it better!
