I own CDK Consulting which specializes in Military Veteran placement in several sectors. Can you give me any feedback on my logo?

Hi Corey: Logos can be very subjective so you may get lots of different opinions here. Generally the most important thing is that a mark be memorable. I've seen really good design that is not memorable and have seen bad design that is. A couple things off the bat. Though this mark is interesting and elegant it is abstract. Abstract may not be good in your industry. I assume your business is placing U.S. military vets in jobs. These jobs are probably blue collar, white collar, tech, industry, etc., so think about what represents all sectors well. I usually like marks that explain or support what the business is just by seeing the mark. Since you probably won't spend hundreds of thousands to build brand equity you will need to rely on clarity and memorability. I think you would want the mark to scream Americana. So consider adding some blue to the mark and/or icons. Consider adding a description so that if you use an abstract design it could be followed with CDK Consulting or a tagline like "Putting our Veteran back to work" for example. Interview some of your veterans for their response and dig into what makes them feel represented (stars/stripes, soldiers, military insignia, etc.) From a typography standpoint I really like this, it's very stylish. However, when I see it I would have no idea what you do or who you represent. Let that be a filter on how you view it. Hope this helps.  – Sonny

I love this game!! Feedback on your logo. Well, the font is pretty, but if I didn't know what your initials were, I would not be able to pick it up from that. I am a small biz consultant and have played this game many many times- -even last week! When I look at a logo, I would like to have some idea about "what" you do. My two cents worth...You can look at mine and tell me what you think now. Have a great weekend!! Lanita aka That Office Girl

Cute. Artistic. And utterly ineffective from a business point of view.

Would look great on the bottom of a fancy dinner plate...

Your proposed logo has a feminine feel. Is that the audience you want to target? Yet, red is a more aggressive color.

In general, a logo should be a visual representation/expression of you, your company, its mission, and:

  • Have a clean look;
  • Reproduce clearly and easily across multiple platforms (digital, print, signage, promotional items, etc.)
  • Think about how you want your target audience to perceive you; not necessarily how you perceive yourself.

    I hope this was helpful.  Good luck with your endeavor!

    I agree that simple is better - also, I would incorporate red white and blue if the military is your target.

    Logo: Cannot distinguish the message. If those are letters, maybe they should be in different colors. Right now, it just seems fused together, but without understanding what it means. People should look at your logo and get it right away, stand alone, without you having to describe what it means. If you are working with Military, I am training veterans how to 1) Use pure hemp oil CBD for PTSD, sleep disorder and pain 2) training them how to create their own business selling CBD oil products for kids, adults, seniors and pets. Do you wish to help me with supporting Veterans to get into their own healing business?

    Too busy . No one will get it .

    Logo should mean something when you see it.  Niki and GE  UPS come to mind .

    I find the red aggressive and the script effeminate. Not sure that's the image you are wanting to project. I see what you're trying to achieve with the overlapping letters and while it's creative and interesting, it would work better in the hospitality industry (i.e. on hotel towels). I don't see it conveying the proper representation for your market. Clear, honest & decisive is a better approach for military placement. I know creating a real-feel logo can be a challenge and wish you the best in your endeavours!

    While it certainly is stylish, if I didn't know it was supposed to be CDK, I would not be able to tell what it was. It also doesn't say or illustrate anything about your business - and that's a problem. I like the font in general but it doesn't lend itself to instant identity. At the very least it needs separation of layers and space to define the letters one from another. My recommendation, a restart.

    If you'd like some professional help, (25 years experience), drop me a line.

    My father who passed away in June 2018 was a WWII veteran.  My grandfather was in WWI. Most veterans have very strong feelings about the American flag. I have seen numerous bits of correspondence come to my father's home that utilize the "flag" as a symbol of where the various companies mission in business is directed,I would recommend a flag in some way being a part of your logo  Simplicity seems to rule in successful logos - i.e. Apple  Good luck, with kindest regards.  Steven Bunch
