It's gotta be Yelp. Foursquare is popular and so is Swarm. But nothing beats Yelp. My business on Yelp.

I have to say that I do not pay for any social media. I use Google and have 5 Star rating. I send a hand written thank you card to every new customer telling them how much I appreciate them. I have 5 stars on Yelp as well and I do not pay for either service. Many people have come into my Spa telling me that they can increase my business by 300%. As far as I am concerned that is bull. Because either you have the talent the shines or you don't. Word of mouth is still my best client and I achieve that through performing excellent services, telling the truth about what people can expect after the service and being there when they have questions.

I'd have to agree that over 35 is Facebook, under 35 is Instagram.

If you haven't checked out britt before she has AMAZING marketing strategy. I really love her tips and suggestions. And she does a free boot camp class. One is on Instagram. Knowing algorithm and what works best on the social platforms.

Facebook and Instagram - make sure in Instagram, you utilize hashtags in the relevant industry that has a lot of posts about the topic. This will get you the targeted exposure you need. We rank high across all platforms in the Whole Body Cryotherapy market because of our targeted way of marketing and being able to leverage each social media platform taking advantage of their specific strengths. http://www.cryonext.tech

You are getting some good advice in my opinion. Especially since your salon where images are going to make the biggest difference for you. Under 35 Instagram, Over Facebook. And certainly do not under estimate and appreciate the power of having the best reputation among your salon competitors. If you can get twice as many reviews on Yelp and Google as your nearest competitor, you'll be untouchable in any marketplace! ....... And then of course , you should turn your 5 star reviews into images and then make them part of your posting strategy to those platforms.

I would not recommend paying Yelp. They charge for every little thing and we don't see much value in their paid options. Now, using a platform to solicit your existing clients to leave reviews on Yelp (as well as Google and Facebook) is a good idea.

I would also say Facebook is better for the older than 35 group and Instagram for the under 35 group. Twitter would be another platform you should look at for both age groups if you wanted to leverage a third.

I like facebook for people over 35 and Instagram for clients under 35.
