The silver lining for me was a busier than expected year and it seems We were not the only ones. Be happy if this get over.
In truth, there is no better time than right now for businesses to re-define their purpose, mission, and values! Trial by fire reveals lots of things but I always remember this...

Business stayed steady most of the year. I know that many others cannot say that, so I feel blessed.
Being able to help small businesses was the silver lining. It was a tough year for so many and I feel bad for all that has been effected. Our passion and mission is to help small businesses.
If it wasn't for wage subsidy we would be in business
Maybe not silver, but bronze: I got a PPP and an SBA loan, grants from the City of Oxford, Ohio, and money back from Ohio Workers' Comp. I was able to negotiate a lower rent, and we got down to 2 employees. We are now not a coffee shop (i.e., we do not serve anything in the store), just a roastery, with free delivery in our business area. We have built up a customer base for roasted coffee. With all that in place, we are doing a fair amount better at the bottom line than last year, even though sales are down some 15%. And no more getting up at 5:30 AM.
When the news of Covid was starting to come to the U.S., I felt in advance that something was changing. We started planning for if there was a need for online and internet training. We developed online training for our students. When things stopped, we were prepared. We tripled our online training and saved many of our customers from leaving.
The silver lining for our business has been the vast opportunity to help businesses provide products that reduce waste. Given the unknown impact statistically as of yet regarding the added waste attributed to PPE, we are very proud to be a part of the waste reducing initiative that is even more vital now than before the pandemic. The year was challenging at times, but the challenges extended the ability to uncover needs for business in many sectors that otherwise wouldn't have been recognized. The innovation and strategic directions that teams all over the world have derived to help solve issues associated with 2020 have been nothing less of incredible. The unity of us all has been inspiring and it shows we can overcome all obstacles. Even the unexpected!
I learned to Zoom and to have video conversations on Facebook Messenger. Also in an assignment in my Zoom acting class to build on an experience Covid reminded me of I reconnected with an intense experience that occurred when I was seven. Also, Bye Bye Bad Karma has given readers a different perspective about their own potential. Mary, NYC
I'm in the Real Estate business. The market in our area really picked up. It was a silver lining for me to have so much activity. I sold almost all of my listings and met some really nice people. The repairs in my saddle shop picked up a little too. It's a nice change from the Real Estate business & I enjoy that evenings and weekends.
