Ain't too proud to beg, but I keep my price relatively high. I'm too experienced to discount, and the value I add (not just a one-trick pony but a Swiss Army knife of skills), most clients appreciate me being on site.
Whether selling something tangible or intangible your answer should always be service. With a tangible item your product may be better or have a better warranty. Sell yourself, your knowledge. Make it clear you are not there to send a bill regularly but rather to offer help and assistance when needed.
Brand yourself within the community, people connect with people more so than the business. There is a difference. Branding you, yourself in the community gives you the personal edge! With this process if you are 1 of 1000 merchant selling potatoes at a flea market you'll out the other's.
