Definitely think they are important. I often have people ask for one, or have been in a discussion and suggested the person give me a call. I put them out at local businesses. I think it lends more credibility to you, as a business. When I'm out and come across something I'd like to look further in to, or possibly buy at a later time, I ask for a card. I'm not going to remember the persons name if I don't.
