About Us

Hello Glen Ellyn! I’ve worked in creative and manufacturing industries for more than 40 years and have provided consulting and support for Apple and Microsoft systems for decades. I have a unique background which has prepared me well to offer customized I.T. solutions to all types of small businesses and individuals. I've been in Glen Ellyn for 26 years while many computer businesses have come and gone. I am currently the only Apple Technical Partner in Glen Ellyn. Apple requires continual training and certification to keep current with the brisk pace of it's technology advancements and to maintain its Partner Network membership.

How We Got Started

I started my I.T. Consulting business while working for Photography and Graphic Arts Businesses back in the 1980's. I helped businesses transition to digital production methods from analog methods. Working as a system integrator and becoming Apple, Microsoft and Network Certified, combined with various software certifications continues to help me add value whether that be handling all technical needs for a business, helping an individual, or working with a client's managed I.T. partner on a unique problem they are not able to handle. I work with everyone.

I do not require proof of vaccination nor a mask because I am vaccinated. That was the whole reason to take the risk. Yes, there are risks involved with taking the vaccine for some people, that is not debatable despite the liberal medias attempt to control the narrative. I do whatever makes someone comfortable and do it with a smile. (which can't be seen behind my mask..) However when individuals concerned about their rights being trampled do not put things in context, I don't appreciate that either. Its God, Country, Family and has to be in order to preserve our liberties. I think people who are not religious are hopefully getting an education as to where individual rights originate and how intelligent our founders were when they wrote the Constitution and Bill of Rights regarding separation of Church and State and equal separation of powers of the 3 branches. I find it disgusting to see the power grabs and over reach by elected officials from the President down to the Democrat governors. Its the States who created the Fed, not the other way around. The Dems never waste an opportunity to spin the dialog surrounding a crisis, this is obvious. Despite our own IL Governor using the pandemic to criticize Republican leadership and to run for re-election, excusing his mistakes in lieu of "caring for the individual" not everyone is buying that BS. People need to stop conflating the issues here - we need to care for each other via genuine dialog between people, not by forcing someones hand with legal or executive action. There are better ways to set examples for the public.

Unfortunately with the current trend of "one size fits all" I.T. there are fewer specialists going it alone and many MSP's (Managed Service Providers) no longer see the value in an individual relationship outside of their own organization. This only enhances my appeal to the small business, however businesses often get confused when they compare an hourly rate to an "all inclusive" monthly fee. Its like comparing apples to oranges. I actually provide direct value for my fees where a "managed service provider" does not have to account for their actual billing as it is perceived as a "retainer".

(more) My clients are small family owned businesses mostly in manufacturing, those businesses have been permanently damaged and some permanently closed due to the Illinois Governor's poor handling of the shutdowns due to Covid and 75 years of single party control. I have to continue to work hard to replace relationships but that is not working out very well yet, and with hyper-inflation and the promise of continued tax and spend policies without the proper reforms our costs continue to rise much faster than any potential growth, so no, I see a large market correction coming in 2025 after the expiration of the current tax rates, if not sooner. I hope I'm wrong but honestly all of the rhetoric about government spending that will save our lives is just a bunch of BS from people who have never built anything. One cannot tax and spend their way into prosperity. (See the State of Illinois losing population over the past 30 years) Our sate and national deficits can be paid down only if we can increase our GDP over what we borrow, not simply by printing more money. Increasing our GDP has many moving parts but requires pro American policies rather than tearing down the country from is foundation as it appears is the current narrative.

This is an age-old divisive argument. Raising the min. wage has always resulted in hurting the economy in general. I've seen it happen multiple times over and over. Seems like a broken record.  The argument itself is the same argument that Democrats "always" use to win elections. "Let someone else pay more, vote for me - I will make things better for you by giving you more than you can get yourself" It sounds great to the people who are working at a minimum wage to automatically be given a raise for doing nothing to earn it. However..there is more to that discussion. Not all jobs are designed as full time jobs and thus the consideration is not as simple as asking someone "can you live on this?" No one asked me if I had enough when I first started working, I just took what I could get and did what it took to improve my earning capacity. I worked a few jobs and went to school which is how it works in our society. One has to have some foresight in order to see that, which is why discussions with younger people often devolve into chaos. I'm not against the worker but you will see job cuts, higher prices at stores, businesses closings, inflation, market losses, so there is no true net gain this way. Sure, a few will earn more but we do better when we are all working, like it was in 2019. Raising taxes on us and forcing wage controls never, never results in anything positive "in general". How does a business stay competitive when their costs are not managed? Right.. they cut costs, which means laying people off and raising the cost to the consumer. Forcing a business to pay more for the same labor makes it more attractive to use overseas labor more, so unless those loopholes are closed, I do not support Biden's economic plan.

However I can say that having fewer pets, and a real wood office door, fast network and multiple computers and work locations in the house helps! Sure all of the psychological responses and reasoning here is true, but we are all just making due the best we can regardless of situation. Having a set of hard fast rules doesn't seem to work for me, I have to be flexible but still have some main boundaries with regard to "space and time".

(Thus I am not working for those companies very often) Not all I.T. can be handled remotely, there are physical systems in place that need maintenance and clients are ignoring that maintenance until cash flow is better. What keeps me hopeful is that eventually all of that infrastructure will require maintenance be performed or it will fail. While I don't care for reactive requests of my time, inevitably work will return due to the nature of small businesses running by the seats of their pants and their lack of planning and suddenly being unable to do their primary tasks will drive the need. Not a very good plan, however even companies who provide contract support for companies are not doing the onsite maintenance these days. Eventually we will all be very busy again!
