What does your business do to encourage online Google (and other) reviews?

Personalizing the ask, or asking in person, at the highest emotional point of a transaction (usually when it is complete) with a direct method (review card with QR code or URL) is the most effective way to get a review. However, this isn't the most feasible way for most small businesses. Text messages and emails can also be effective methods of asking for reviews, but they do require followup.
Having a process is place will help you generate reviews consistently. Including a customer review funnel with your scheduled CRM "ask for review" campaign is the preferred method. Load the campaign with 3 followup emails asking for the review, that send over the course of 9 days.
Regardless, the hardest part for most small businesses is just asking for the review. Once you can get past the fear and consistently ask for reviews from your customers, it will become habitual and rewarding.
