I asked the the mfg for the name of Prez or VP and they said email ? No... I said, he wanted to physically write a letter to thank them for my service. No ONE does this anymore, but this customer was so happy he wanted them to know in writing. this is a true testament to your doing the job right and treating your customers as you wish to be treated

i have a valued and trusted computer company "Businessware" who takes care of my in house server and workstations. I do all the updating and minor repairs personally. I however am not a server person. though I can troubleshoot to the server for diagnostics. if you want less headaches it is imperative to have someone having your back when it comes to servers. AND HAVING A BACKUP CANNOT BE UNDERSTATED
I used to do free estimates for anyone. then as tracked how it worked and found that they would get me to diagnose it then take it to someone working out of their garage to fix it cheaper. My time is too valuable and my very numerous certifications are too expensive, to allow this to happen....

My time is too valuable and my very numerous certifications are too expensive, to allow this to happen. people have become untrustworthy as the moral compass seems to be broken. Now I only do discounts for chamber members or veterans. any discount I do now is posted and not ambiguous.
You need to be out there. I enjoy schmoozing as it were. If you listen you can gain invaluable knowledge. if you are not out there then you start to become invisible

I see both sides. In my store they can have what I call comp time to play or on their lunch whatever they want. None of this is within view of our customers. Some days lunch gets interrupted quite frequently so this compensates for that. ALWAYS AFTER ALL CUSTOMER JOBS ARE FINISHED....I also...

ALWAYS AFTER ALL CUSTOMER JOBS ARE FINISHED....I also encourage them to do their training at the office so they can do it on 60 meg download vs home networks and I am there for assistance and teach the correct process
I have been in other stores and been ignored by staff playing. I have a tendency to leave the business when it is done to me. not an issue here but that would not fly at my business. Customer takes precedence

start with respect then listen. what I hear most from customers is brand X does not listen to what they are saying. they just push their agenda for what they think the customer wants or what they can oversell them
