About
Is your elevator pitch working as well as you think it is?

When someone asks, "So, what do you do?" can you give them a compelling reason to be interested in what you have to offer?

You might have an excellent product or service, years of experience, and a genuine passion for your business. But are you communicating what your prospective customers actually care about?

How would you know?

Welcome to the Elevator Pitch Diagnostic, an interactive Business Development Laboratory designed to examine the fundamental elements of your business messaging and identify where improvements may be needed.

What are we going to examine?

Using a structured diagnostic assessment, we'll evaluate four essential characteristics of your elevator pitch:
1. Ideal Client Identification
How well do you know the people you’re trying to reach? Can you clearly identify your optimum customer and understand what matters to them?

2. Personal Motivation
Why do you do what you do? What are your underlying beliefs, values, and motivations? How effectively are these reflected in your business message?

3. Understanding of "What You Sell"
What are your customers really buying from you? Your product or service is only part of the equation. Understanding the underlying benefits, outcomes, and reasons people buy is essential to developing an effective message.

4. Relevancy to Your Ideal Client
How relevant is your business offering to the people you’re trying to attract? Does your message speak to their problems, needs, interests, or aspirations? Are you giving them a compelling reason to pay attention?

What will you leave with?

By the end of this laboratory, you will have:
Completed a structured assessment of your elevator pitch across four fundamental characteristics.

Identified the areas of your messaging that may need strengthening.

Gained greater clarity about the relationship between what you believe you sell and what your customers actually value.

Developed a better understanding of how your personal motivations and business offering influence your message.

Identified where to focus your efforts to make your elevator pitch more relevant and compelling.

You’ll leave knowing what deserves your attention and why.

How does the laboratory work?
This is an interactive, facilitated session.

You’ll be invited to share your existing elevator pitch, examine your assumptions, participate in structured discussions, and complete a diagnostic assessment.

You don’t need a polished elevator pitch to participate. In fact, if you’ve been struggling to explain what you do, this is an excellent place to start.

Come prepared to participate, think critically, and consider how others might interpret your message.
