I moved to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area of Pennsylvania from New York, where I had owned a storefront travel agency in Greenwich Village. I never realized the "culture shock" I would experience when moving from the big city to a relatively rural area. I also never realized how pronounced my New York accent was, or even that there were differences in speech! But after many years I have almost completely adjusted and love the "small town" atmosphere where I presently work. My clients are like family, often stopping in or calling just to say hello. While the travel agency business has changed dramatically over the years, I am proud to say I still place great value on the ability to develop a personal relationship with my clients while always expanding my knowledge of a changing world.
