How We Got Started

I’ve been working as an administrator for IT firms, retail firms, and not-for-profits since 1991. I'm a specialist at being a generalist and decided to bring that specialization to the market, knowing that there are lots of small businesses that need those skills but can't afford to hire someone full time.

Keep it polite, keep it respectful. Discussion and debate is always good but if you can't keep those two elements, keep it out of the office. (more) Keep it polite, keep it respectful. Discussion and debate is always good but if you can't keep those two elements, keep it out of the office.

The format is less critical to me than the content. Either way, I want it to be engaging and worth the time and expense of participating.  (more) The format is less critical to me than the content. Either way, I want it to be engaging and worth the time and expense of participating.

As my own business? 18 months.  Professionally? 25+ years.  As for making a difference? Absolutely.  Providing them with time, with the confidence that what they need dealt with is done? Gives them the ability to put themselves fully into what they love doing.   (more) As my own business? 18 months.  Professionally? 25+ years.  As for making a difference? Never. I  talk to people as they speak to me - with respect for each other's knowledge, honesty and integrity. If someone spoke to me "like a woman", I'd probably find that more off-putting. I'm a business person and I expect to be treated as such and offer that to others. (more) Never.
