So many times, the tasks related to keeping financial records for a company can be tedious.  And yet, they are the lifeblood of what we do as small businesses.  Those records, when organized well, contain key insights for what is working in our businesses and where we can improve.  After all, we're in it to make money, right?!  Even non-profits should be in tune with financial improvement.

What I like, though, is that it is a way to separate your business from others.  If you pay attention to the financial details of your business, take the time and effort to keep your financial records organized, you will be able to be more competitive than those businesses who don't.  So don't tell anyone - this is a one of the secrets of success!
