What do you think is an appropriate relationship with a client/customer?

I call all my clients family. But there is a line you must drawer as family tends to take advantage of you as a client will do the same. Next thing you know is your doing small fix it jobs for free. I don't care how nice client/family is they all tend to follow the same foot steps. Drawer that line
