Try to under-promise and over-deliver. If I can exceed expectations consistently, they'll remember me. (more) Try to under-promise and over-deliver. If I can exceed expectations consistently, they'll remember me.

Yes, there is a "cost" associated with getting a website up and running. There's also an expectation that you should receive excellent support as needed. However, what I'd like to suggest is that you look at "cost" as an investment. If you know that the average investor in the stock market sees average returns over the years of about 10% then the question is more about how much are you willing and able to invest for a 10% ROI? If you know the value of a single customer then it's easy to figure out the value of a website. For example, if you know a typical customer is worth $100, and you know that you have a website that generates leads that qualify and become customers, and you're able to regularly add 10 new customers per day, then that's $1000 per day in revenue for you because of your website. If you knew that it cost you $200 per day to create and maintain the website, and to run ads to drive traffic to the website, then that's putting $200 in to get $1000 out. That's an easy answer in my opinion. Your website is an investment and should be viewed through that lens. If the math proves you can put in $X and get out $10X then the question is how much do you want to make? Also, I would suggest that you look for a company to partner with you to develop your site based on value, not lowest cost. Making a decision based on lowest cost often leads to greater cost once you spend the money to correct all that went wrong with the lowest cost solution. With all that said, I'd love to hear more about what you're looking for and see if I might be able to help you out.

No. I don't think there's much value in it. (more) No. I don't think there's much value in it.
