How do you cope when you lose a major client as a small business owner?

This is a very tough situation. I've been there. It is important to never have one company be more than 50% of your revenue. This includes multiple clients within one company. Companies get bought, sold, get new CEOs, go out of business, change their business strategies, etc. If something happens to 50% of your business, you have to scramble to gain new clients but your income has not stopped.
