both are valid to a degree. MOST buyers hope to not have any major defects discovered during their home inspection. However if they do arise they expect to be able to negotiate them. It really is as simple as that.

Charles integrity is always huge. I agree. Unless i missed a more detailed account of the matter, I disagree with Amy. If a claim develops where the cost is less than your deductible then your insurance has nothing to do with the situation. And sometimes it's wiser to settle with someone than to leave a bed taste in their mouth. That also can be viewed as integrity and good PR. As for having a PR person or firm. Not many solo home inspectors can afford such a luxury. Just do the job the best you can and make decisions that you're comfortable with. To steal a phrase from a TV commercial, after 30 years in this business I know a thing or two cause Ive seen a thing or two.

I great great satisfaction from education home buyers. Not just by telling them what is wrong with a home, but also informing them regarding the components and maintenance of the structure.

I find that lead services do not let you sell yourself. landing leads are priced based, feed for the bottom feeders!
