PS. - WLRN has a free events calendar, if you do happen to have public events to promote.
We did a Kickstarter campaign a few years ago to fund the commissioning of a play, which raised more than $10,000. A very specific, focused challenge that exceeded our goal.

Here in Nashville, 3 arts & culture nonprofits have changed their names relatively recently: TACA (Tennessee Association of Craft Artists) became Tennessee Craft; Tennessee Repertory Theatre became Nashville Rep; Frist Center for the Visual Arts became The Frist Art Museum. The top-line reason...

Here in Nashville, 3 arts & culture nonprofits have changed their names relatively recently: TACA (Tennessee Association of Craft Artists) became Tennessee Craft; Tennessee Repertory Theatre became Nashville Rep; Frist Center for the Visual Arts became The Frist Art Museum. The top-line reason was to improve public perception of what they are and do, but I doubt any of them will feel negative effects on grants because they're long-established. Tennessee Women's Theater Project chose a name that is direct and mission-descriptive. Conversely, the Women's Project (est. 1978) of NYC has rechristened as WP Theater.
The contribution is too tiny to matter much, even to our tiny organization. Still, we mention the opportunity in the "other ways to help" part of every email blast and on our web site, and we include Amazon Smile in our donor list. No reason not to take a small free ride with an internationally...

I'm wondering if you can develop relationships with vet clinics and pet supply stores in your service area - at least ask to post Fosters Wanted notices on their bulletin boards. Others advise asking how established rescue orgs raise volunteers - that's a great idea - try asking some outside your...

Others advise asking how established rescue orgs raise volunteers - that's a great idea - try asking some outside your service area first, for a sense of best practices, then perhaps some that are closer to you.
Several companies have charitable foundations. We're proud beneficiaries of sponsorships from HCA TriStar. When we have a project that fits their funding criteria, we have been very impressed with Nissan Foundation.

In Nashville, the Center for Nonprofit Management has workshops on forming a nonprofit. There's also an umbrella organization for nonprofits called Fractured Atlas that might be helpful as a way to get started and determine the viability of your idea before going all in.
