My entire life I blamed my father's absence on my failures and inability to effectively be a man. However when he died and found myself crying my eyes out at his funeral and unable to understand why I was crying. I realized that he was gone and there was no one to blame any more.
At the point I released him and decided I would own my life and decisions. I made it up in my mind that I was going to to what I needed to do to live the successful life I saw for myself.
