I prefer to give referrals rather than receiving them.  First, when I give a referral to a realtor it means that I have a qualified Buyer who is ready to go and indicates to the Agent I trust them as a professional.  It says our teams will work hard to get our client into their desired home and, moreover, it means I am in control of my business i.e., if I am waiting for realtor referrals, I am not working my plan and I am not out actively looking for new clients or working my past client list for their referrals.

However, don't think I do not like receiving realtor referrals. In fact, I love receiving realtor referrals because it means they trust me with their clients and with their business. They know I will provide service that compliments and enhances their reputation.

It actually is super easy to give good service and receive referrals.

Being a lender puts me in the path of all sorts of people so I am always referring "someone to someone," the painter to the developer, the toothache to the dentist, the pet owner to the dog walker, etc., and, in return, they refer their friends and clients in need of my services.

The art of referral should become as natural as breathing.
