I usually give closing gifts and also drop off gifts at Christmas time.  Closing gifts are personalized to my buyers.  May be Welcome Mat, Gift Baskets with items common to this area, Gardening books if new to this area, gift cards if work to be done on house they purchase, etc.  Cost varies based on price of house purchased.  I believe the thoughtfulness is appreciated and effective.
