If anyone or institutions ask for a donation, I keep that Philosophy in mind. Usually I make Gift Certificate Donations, avoid cash and if really important a FOOD donation. If I have exhausted the donations, then I say NO. That is it. I don't defend myself or my business.

Good AM!  I have never had a Baklava with cream filling! It is not very popular in Peterborough Canada and we have a famous Greek family business in town that has a famous recipe.   If I make it, we use a honey syrup & toasted sugared nuts as filling. YUM! We are busy every season and the "down" season is still busy because I run a coffeehouse as well as the cater/bakery business. I want to expand the cater & bakery aspect and get double the clients. This means I must hire a full time admin person. She or he must be able to keep up with me which I think is a going to be difficult. I will have to prepare for mistakes. With growth comes less chance of attention to detail from my own personal observation but the to learn to trust others MORE.

If that is your specialty and you do it well, stick to your concept of Indian/Pakistani cooking and do it 110%!! Look for your clients by finding not only your demographics but also those that are adventurous and LOVE good food! All vendors in this business recommend whom they want to be affiliated with due to honour and good word. No money should pass between us unless it is for a product directly. Examples of this would be ordering rentals or a wedding shoot w/ your cake for media (photography).

(I suggest 2 year and a 5 year) Secondly, think about what you time line is, amount of money you this to invest and how you want to staff your company: *do you plan to do this alone? Do you have a friend or a partner? *CASH in the bank helps as there will be an Overhead: computer, labels, marketing & driving. Not to mention the time it takes to drive around. *what do you want to do w/ the product? Besides selling stores, how else do you let people know it exists and how do you back your product up after it sells? After you have consider these questions, get a long list of hopeful contacts. These are stores and companies you would like you product to be affiliated with. Make sure your product is available to taste w/ packaged products in your Sales Pitch bag, ready for the shelf. Get ready for more running around and accruable actions.

Hello Maryann, What are your social circles? *play groups? *YMCA? *swim class ? *yoga? Bring your cookies w/ flyers. Give them out for "tasting" but entice them w/ deals. This is a perfect time of year. No one wants to bake but they need cookies in the house to impress the Festive Guests... When I started out I created a lot of investment in Fundraising. That way I could show case my work to a crowd. I would show my face w/ the food and hand out business cards. Soon, I had a solid customer base. (more) When I started out I created a lot of investment in Fundraising. That way I could show case my work to a crowd.
