Networking is about getting to know your community and resources. Everyone you meet is important. As you listen, you store away this person's name and expertise. When you meet the next person, you do the same. Eventually, you have a data base of people you know, respect and admire. When someone needs a referral, you know who to recommend.  When people need your services, people will remember your area of expertise as well. It's all word of mouth referral. You know, the old village concept where all the grandmas knew everything!
