thats the catch 22 tho. You cant get a "proven" portfolio & references if no one ever lets you get that foot in the door in the first place.


Im in the same boat...nrw locations are tough!!! The gatekeepers already have their favorites, and the market is SWAMPED with photogs.

Id recommend reaching out to air bnb listings that have shit photos, shoot a few for free to build a portfolio AND a local network. Its a lot of work for what could end up to be nothing though, so choose wisely.

Can also sign up for photography tours at historic homes (falling water) or possibly workshops.

Can try to network at events where interior designers are hosting...offer to shoot for them. Home builders as well.
