Where do salespeople go SO WRONG?

I have a sign on my door that says "No Soliciting". My staff point that out to people that "stop by" and it usually prevents me from being interrupted. I hang up on most unsolicited sales calls as a matter of principle. I've been in business since 1980 and rarely find sales and marketing input to be useful. Most salespeople go wrong by not having anything to sell me that would benefit my business.
