How We Got Started
I started as a street photographer, studying at the Oregon College of Art & Craft in 2004. After years of photographing on the streets of Portland, I began to realize that the images I felt most connected to were those which highlighted the experience of an individual. I was focused on PEOPLE. I began to study lighting, pose, and portrait technique, and opened Christina Tselnik Portraits in 2019.

I am a Photographer (beyond the iPhone, although phone photography is great!) I started studying Fine Art Photography at Oregon College of Art and Craft over 16 years ago; I am a documentary photographer and portrait photographer. My business is Christina Tselnik Portraits LLC. My client values Fine Art Portraiture and is interested in a special experience when they have their portrait taken by me. I emphasize directing a client in posing to make the session comfortable and to ensure that she/he loves her portraits; my sessions include makeup and hair (by a hair stylis). My passion is creating beautiful images that will last her (or him) a lifetime and which may be passed onto loved ones. My inspiration comes from my grandmother, who left us many beautiful and artfully-rendered portraits that I LOVE looking back on. Here is a recent Portrait inspired by vintage photographs.
