Looking for that great coffee experience in Regina?? Try our Rochdale Roca House located in the northwest off Pasqua Street/Rochdale Boulevard.
This independently owned coffee shop specializes in gourmet coffee and exotic loose leaf teas in 39 flavours. We offer fresh in house baking and delicious grilled sandwiches and soups. Our feature treat of the week is our Tuesday Coconut Buns which brings people from all areas of the city.
And for our sweet tooth customers, we have decadent cheesecakes and sticky toffee pudding from the Wow Factor Bakery in Toronto.
Rochdale Roca House also supports independent local artists and musicians for your enjoyment. Local Artists feature their work on our brilliantly coloured walls, while locally talented musicians entertain at open mic nights.
We feature a special first Thursday of the month tots sing a long with a local artist on guitar; with songs for the children to sing along to and do gestures. Free Milk and cookies for the kids are the highlight.

Have you found that paid ads generate significant revenue, or just likes?

I find word of mouth is always best. But, if we are talking FB ads for specific events, I find that if you target the customer base  that the ad's can be quite effective. I don't know the last time that I placed and ad in the paper or even the phone book, things are more available on-line I find.    (more) I find word of mouth is always best. You have to create a unique vibe, by hosting local art, music, pop-up shops etc. this also show that you are supporting your community. Have items created just for you, or by a faithful customer, for example we have added grilled cheese to our menu as per a request by a faithful customer and... Business in Saskatchewan has taken a small decrease this past year. We have found it crucial to have a strong social media presence. A strong social media presence as well as excellent and consistent product (as a coffee house, it is crucial to have all staff trained and consistent) will keep... A strong social media presence as well as excellent and consistent product (as a coffee house, it is crucial to have all staff trained and consistent) will keep customers coming back. Another valuable lesson learned this past year is in regards to staffing. I have always had a heart to give the benefit of a doubt, this is not always a good idea when running a customer service business. Without going into specifics, hiring staff for customer service positions needs to be based on the persons maturity and relatability.

We like to support local artists, by allowing them to showcase their art for a month. We also have live music nights with local and passing through artists. We also have local small or in-home businesses do a pop up shop. By doing this, the artists and business owners have a place to showcase... As well as, the promotion on social media and so forth.
What is your best method to finding employees for your cafe? This is something that is becoming more challenging.

Good afternoon Cecilia, This has never been an issue for us, we have always had an overabundant amount of resumes. I do understand that it is an issue for many small business, we have been blessed with having more applications then needed. Sorry, for not being a lot of help.
