My approach is to find out what it is they really want. Some people don't want a quality item or service, all they want is the end result. I explain to them why my product or service is priced the way it is. If they want quality they will use my services, if they don't, then they are free to go anywhere else. I really don't like to spend too much time going back and forth playing the price war.
