What type of injury prevention training techniques do you use for the general population? Also, what is another I.P. technique that applies to a specific sport?

The most important first step is a good initial assessment to make sure the athlete doesn't have any faulty motor patterns that will need correcting before progressing on to sport specific work.   From there,  appropriate soft tissue work and thorough warm ups before any loaded movement.  Then ensure proper form, never sacrificing form for completing an exercise. I train all my clients like athletes,  just varying loads and intensity.

David, what about people who are not athletes? Many non-athletes injure themselves just from exerting themselves once and then they are in trouble hurting and then visit their doctor who prescribes some medication. Why? They are not involved in any exercise or don't realize that they need, most of us anyway, take care of themselves by getting involved in some prevention which does not have to be regular and vigorous workouts twice or three times a week. We all know that some very simple, but consistent movements, such as walking, gentle exercises, or yoga,  with warming up and cooling down, including stretching every part of your body, and proper breathing will help them to prevent further injuries;  unless they suddenly start shovelling snow for four hours in one go without having prepared those muscles. We all know that daily sitting for long hours creates tremendous vulnerability to weakening every tissue or organ in their body, and eventually their mind-set  leading  eventually to injuries.
