Hi Emily, I usually meet my customers after I have sold them. Being a Property Inspector has that one disadvantage. I think for you it might be best to sell your clients in bunches. Yes like bananas. Sponsor an event and invite them over for a Free class in financial planning. This is your moment to shine. Let them see what you offer in small tastes. I have learned that I have to be both attentive and trusting simultaneously. This sounds easy but in my business I don't meet my clients till after I've sold them, with that said. Once we meet all I have to work with are my skills and experience. So they must trust me before hand. Word of mouth... (more) I have learned that I have to be both attentive and trusting simultaneously. This sounds easy but in my business I don't meet my clients till after I've sold them, with that said. Once we meet all I have to work with are my skills and experience. So they must trust me before hand. Word of mouth is important for that reason. Carefully branding yourself and doing and knowing what you are talking about is of the utmost importance.

I would have to say.yes it's prudent to walk away. I guess it depends on your ethics and your need for the job. Weighing the two depends on how much need you have.
