Becoming the expert at one or two things will produce better results then trying to market everything to every one. I wish I knew that Workers Compensation would be the one solution that really sets us apart from other agencies. After 20 years of solution selling at Xerox I had no idea the same... (more) Becoming the expert at one or two things will produce better results then trying to market everything to every one. I wish I knew that Workers Compensation would be the one solution that really sets us apart from other agencies. After 20 years of solution selling at Xerox I had no idea the same practice could be applied successfully in the commercial insurance business. Now I see how selling benefits instead of features can really differentiate me in marketing my insurance solutions.

I belong to several networking groups and each one has several real estate agents. I have worked very hard to build trust and relationships. In my experience asking real estate agents for referrals doesn't really work. Instead of asking for referrals I ask them how their business is going, what there challenges are and build rapport. When they need a homeowner policy, they send them to me. Real Estate agents are bombarded daily by insurance agents, mortgage brokers, title companies, escrow companies, home inspectors, staging companies just to name a few. My advice is to pick a couple of top producers and show them who you are and how you can make their closings go smoother.

Members market from a Professional Organizer and Life Coach to Real Estate and Mortgage lending with everything in between. You will improve all of your skills in a safe environment surrounded by new friends that were once in the exact same position you are in now. You will gain confidence in speaking in front of a group of people. Members of the group will help you to become the best at selling  your product. In every case I have seen members of the group become clients. Of course the referrals from the those members can be the catalyst for your success. Best of luck and good selling.

You go to deliver a life insurance policy to a client. She asks just because I have poor health why should I have to pay so much for the policy? I have seen too many people lose a spouse and suddenly have to pay a mortgage and bills while taking care of the kids and looking for a job. Educating clients about the importance of having a... (more) I started my business to help people avoid not having proper coverage in case the unthinkable happens. I have seen too many people lose a spouse and suddenly have to pay a mortgage and bills while taking care of the kids and looking for a job. Educating clients about the importance of having a plan and being able to execute that plan is gives me the greatest pleasure. In addition, I wanted to create a legacy for my kids.

Everyone in our home has a Life Insurance policy except for the dog. Our twins are 9 and have had life polices since they were 2 years old. Although everyone's financial goals and plan may differ, in my opinion, Life Insurance is a must have. The types of Life Insurance available today are so... Although everyone's financial goals and plan may differ, in my opinion, Life Insurance is a must have. The types of Life Insurance available today are so different than 20 years ago. At our agency we educate clients about the many ways Life Insurance can be used today. We then allow our clients to decide what products are right for them.
