Be open and honest with them. Give them specific examples from your opinion on what they can improve on. Don't just say you didn't like it. Be specific and don't make it personal attacks. Having seen many of my clients go from struggling in their own business (even hating to go to their own business) to thriving and managing their businesses is fantastic.  Business owners get so wrapped up in just playing defense they forget offense is where most of the points are scored. By... (more) Having seen many of my clients go from struggling in their own business (even hating to go to their own business) to thriving and managing their businesses is fantastic.  Business owners get so wrapped up in just playing defense they forget offense is where most of the points are scored. By working with business owners giving them true clarity within their business, expanding their leadership skills, and work on be proactive to their own business and those forces around them shifts them to offense. Being that I focus on the business aspect, it also improves their relations within the community by now being able to sponsor activities, be a part of the community, not just pay rent.  By making more money, they have to hire more staff, which helps the local economy as well. Their personal lives defiantly change for the better. No more stress about the business going home every night, the ability to take a vacation-and afford it.  Once the business starts turning around, so does the owner and their staff attitudes and outlooks. It all goes from doom and gloom to positive and cooperation. Not everyone can be coached.  You must first be willing to make some changes in order to reach your goals.  Just look at the top Fortune 500 companies-almost every CEO has a coach (either a business, executive, life, spiritual, or physical training coach).   If you don't like getting deep within your struggles (personal or business), hate being held accountable, don't want to put any effort into yourself or your business-then you shouldn't get a coach and keep staying flat or declining.
How do you prioritize your day?

Sharon. There are many different methods to prioritize your day, just need to find one that works the best for you. I first use a calendar and block everything in it (yes, including lunch). This keeps me on track for my daily appointments. I also put in time for outbound calls, planning, etc.... (more) Sharon. There are many different methods to prioritize your day, just need to find one that works the best for you. I first use a calendar and block everything in it (yes, including lunch). This keeps me on track for my daily appointments. I also put in time for outbound calls, planning, etc. By doing this I now have dedicated time to those items that would get put on the back burner. I block 15 minutes a day to write down my goals, and think about them. This has really helped. The night before every work day, I write out my to do list (maximum 5 items), then block the time in my day to complete them. It sounds like I block time for everything, but if you don't the next thing you know the day is over and you haven't accomplished what you really wanted because you are always playing defense instead of offense. There is a priority method that is "ABCDEF". Make your to do list, then rank them by "A, B, C, D, E, or F" Items that get an "A" are must do that day no matter what. Items marked "B" must be done that day, but may wait one more day. Items marked an "F" don't do and save for a very raining non producing day. I hope you get the idea on this one. This does not take long to do and you will be amazed how those "F" items no longer appear on your to do list and you only have "A and B" items. I do workshops on time management which include a few different ways to prioritize tasks. It follows "Eat that Frog" by Brian Tracy. I hope this helps. (more) Business owners and leaders can benefit from working with a business coach. A business coach should be there for YOU! Not them. They are your non-equity strategic partner that will assist you in showing you how to get greater returns with less work. Increase your profits, develop your team (now and in the future), and get the owner/leader re-engaged in their business. To work ON their business and not IN their business. If your business is slowly in decline, flat, or showing minimal growth, then the time to bring on a business coach may be a great option. Other questions you should be asking is to find out if the business coach is certified. Many "coaches" now days came from a cubicle in corporate life then decided to be a coach. The coach should have gone through some certification program. Since you are looking for a business coach, then that person should have owned and/or ran a business in the past. If the coach has never owned or operated a business, then how are they going to know what you are going through? Their are many different types of coaches and you need to find the one that is the best for YOU! There are emotional, push, inspire, result, goal oriented, and inner work coaches. I am a result and goal oriented coach, quantifiable metrics that show positive improvement within the business and the owner/leaders personal life. Ask lots of questions before working with a business coach. They should offer the first consultation at no charge and NOT lock you into a long-term contract. Everyone that works with a business coach has different goals they are looking to achieve and therefore, have different results. If you are serious about bringing on a business coach, then you need to ask yourself; are you coachable? A good coach will ALWAYS give you homework every week to assist you in achieving Your goal. I know that sounds bad, but if the coach is there for YOU, and YOU are serious about improving your business and personal life, then it will be very achievable. You will find out the business owners/leaders that are working with a business coach and are fully engaged in the process are showing unbelievable success. You don't have to go searching for a business coach on Alignable. You have found one here.
