I had a client call wanting a photographer for a 50th anniversary reception that was 4 weeks away and while talking with her I discovered she had secured the place, the florist & caterer and sent out the invitations but had given no thought as to how she would make the day stand out and be memorable in fact it upset to talk about the event so I ask her if there was something she needed to talk about with an outsider and she broke down crying it seems her husband of 20 years had walked out for another woman and she hadn't told anyone. So she was trying to plan a celebration of 50 years of marriage for her parents and her father was a minister who didn't believe in divorce so she was trying to keep this a secret until after their reception. I volunteered to take on some of the last minute details and run things by her before I finalized anything. She smiled and said"that is so sweet of you I just fill like my life is coming apart and I'm so sad but I'm supposed to be all upbeat and happy about mom and dad's celebration and I just can't do it right now. The reception went off perfectly and we had a video slideshow of then and now that was playing at the reception which thrilled her parents and a custom made yard flag that guests wrote their best wishes on the back off as a permanent keepsake that they could display each year on their anniversary.
