To me it's kind of like an unnecessary death of a friend. First I'm angry, then I'm sad, depending on how much they were worth, sometimes very sad. After grieving for a billing cycle or two... I get up and start looking for new clients. I've been in business for 30 years. I've had some awesome clients come and go. The number one reason I lose clients is because the person I work with (who makes the decision about hiring me) leaves the company. Other reasons are, my service becomes an in-house service, or most recently, a company was sold. Whatever the reason, it's time to re-invent yourself, your product, and your image. Coincidentally, I've lost three big ones over the last couple of years, no fault of my own. Things just change. So let's do it together!
