How We Got Started
Back in the early 2000s, I discovered I LOVE bookkeeping—yep, the numbers, the organization, the clarity it brings. 🧾 But the traditional office environment just wasn’t built for me. The stress, the hustle, the buzzing fluorescent lights... it was too much. 😵💫
So I built a business that supports my energy, honors my brain, and helps others do the same. ✨
Then COVID hit—and everything changed. I began talking with clients who were overwhelmed and barely staying afloat. I offered them space to breathe, reflect, and figure out how to thrive, not just survive.
And in doing that, I found something too—my voice. I realized I wasn’t just here to do the books. I was here to help people create sustainable success with clarity, gentle accountability and aligned systems. 🌱

Have you thought of an automated payment agreement?
If your services are repeated weekly or monthly, that is often a viable solution. If you are using QuickBooks products or subscriptions, I can help you get merchant services. With QBO, if you get an automated payment agreement using ACH payments (e-checks) there are no fees at all, and if you choose to accept credit cards, we can offer you discounted rates for Intuit Merchant Services.
Even without automated payments, if your clients can pay you directly through your emailed invoice, they often pay you much earlier. I have seen clients turn their A/Rs from over 6 months out to no more than 30 days out - the credit card fees are more than worth the resulting cash flow. You can make it mandatory for only the repeat offenders to be on automated payments.
Since implementing these processes for my own business, my cash flow has improved so much that I have been growing my business steadily - and I see no end in sight!

As a few other people mentioned, signing a paper saying they are an independent contractor does not make them one.
A lot of them want to know if their QB file is set-up right - maybe a review of the COA and what each account is used for? Also learning to read/understand common reports like P&L, Balance Sheet, Payroll Summary.

Quickbooks desktop version handles inventory very well and is quite user friendly. Quickbooks Online requires one of the higher subscription to get inventory, so it gets pricey if you don't need the online/access anywhere ability.
I would recommend finding a local ProAdvisor to help you set-up...

I would recommend finding a local ProAdvisor to help you set-up your company file, so it is set up correctly - I spend hours fixing a set-up that would have taken me an hour to do correctly... Whatever program you choose, get a professional to set it up for you and teach you how to use it.
