How long should a new employee be given to complete orientation or there probationary period before being expected to grasp all aspects of their position with full accountability?

I would think that would be determined by the individual. Some will grasp thinks quicker than others. If you add ADHD, anxiety and depression to the mix, it may be that these people need a little more time. If you are open to hearing about their struggles, and it is not a shaming situation for them, I think you will be able to connect and optimize your employees.
