How We Got Started

Tucson CPA firm, Flowers, Rieger and Associates, PLLC, was originally established in 1984 by Michael Flowers, a CPA who is a recipient of the prestigious Small Business Leader of the Year Award. Tim Rieger, owner and CPA, joined the firm in 1992 to grow and expand the services offered by the firm.

How often do you clients miss their tax deadlines and why?

Most of our clients meet the tax filing deadlines because we are in constant contact with them, requesting them to provide their income tax information to us. We also extend their returns, if we don't have all of their information or we have not heard from them.  Unfortunately, a few clients do... (more) Most of our clients meet the tax filing deadlines because we are in constant contact with them, requesting them to provide their income tax information to us. We also extend their returns, if we don't have all of their information or we have not heard from them.  Unfortunately, a few clients do not provide us with their income tax information, no matter how many times we email, mail or call them. I strongly encourage clients not to ever miss a filing deadline because I have noticed that, if they miss a filing deadline, they often then get several years behind and it becomes an overwhelming task for them to then get caught up.

Have you found that paid ads generate significant revenue, or just likes?

I think that it really depends on the type of business. Ads don't seem to be very effective for professional services, like our CPA practice, but they do help with name recognition.  (more) I think that it really depends on the type of business.
