About Us

Growth Partners Arizona is an outcome-focused nonprofit lender that measures success by the success of our small business and nonprofit borrowers.

We help nonprofit leaders and small business owners who create change in economically underserved communities, gain the operational resources and business guidance they need to improve the lives and economic well being of Arizona residents.

How We Got Started

The Nonprofit Loan Fund of Tucson and Southern Arizona (NPLF) was founded in 2012. In 2017, NPLF became a U.S. Treasury certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). With this certification, NPLF joined hundreds of nonprofit CDFI loan funds across the country committed to providing affordable financing to promote economic and community development in underserved areas.

The CDFI designation allowed us to expand our reach, influence, credibility, and access to capital resources. To reflect this expansion, we changed our name to Growth Partners Arizona (GPAz) and affiliated the nonprofit Business Development Finance Corporation (BDFC), one of the most active community-focused SBA lenders in Arizona.

GPAz now serves Arizona nonprofit organizations and small businesses that lack access to traditional capital sources by providing loans and financial coaching to help businesses become financial sustainable.

Lenders are people like you and me who loan as little as $25. When you get to the online platform, you'll have access to nearly 2 million lenders worldwide. Some communities, like southern Arizona, have Kiva Hubs, that provide assistance to borrowers throughout the application process. I don't know if your community has one, though. If not, simply go to Kiva.org to check it out.
