I’m with Dan Kaufman; however, I believe it will cost far more to employ these people than the tax revenue they will bring in. Provide me proof that I’m wrong before you once again increase the enormous size of what is supposed to be the ”limited government” in DC. We need working people who produce something, not 87,000 more desk jockeys.

"Eighty billion dollars is a lot, but experts say it should be a money maker for the government because examiners bring in a lot more tax revenue than it costs to employ them. Exactly how much is debatable. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office expects an additional $204 billion in revenue over the next decade, so the government would come out ahead by $124 billion. But those estimates are uncertain, taking into account things like how long it will take to hire people and the average lengths of audits." https://www.politico.com/news/2022/08/16/irs-sp...
