When is the best time to go to networking meetings: mornings, lunch time, or afternoons?

For me it is either first thing in the morning (my preference) or late afternoon/early evening (Happy Hour timeframe). I stay away from lunch time networking functions though I will have a lunch meeting that includes networking components.
