About Us

The Recipe of Success® is a nationally recognized consulting firm that has held the “secret ingredient” to creating some of the best restaurants, fast-casual dining venues, cafes, bars, bakeries and multifaceted catering and events businesses. Embracing a hands-on consultancy philosophy and an entrepreneurial spirit, The Recipe of Success provides profitable and executable solutions to private equity, owners and operators of restaurant companies.

The boutique firm specializes in both launching new restaurant startups along with turnarounds for struggling or financially distressed operations by bringing fresh ideas to the table, including concept development, food and beverage strategies, menu development, real estate brokerage, restaurant design and construction, operational procedures, marketing and staff training to drive guest frequency and maximize revenue. Since 2000, The Recipe of Success has a legacy of success “menu” of over 150 major clients.

Global in reach, holistic in approach, but locally relevant, we work alongside some of the most “seasoned” executives at some of the most successful food and beverage companies to visualize, plan, and implement innovative ideas to turnaround restaurants, bars and hospitality venues.

As restaurant consultants, we work with new and emerging brands as well as those who are well established.

How We Got Started

Ghost kitchens will continue to be a positive trend for concepts that are looking to expand, penetrate new markets as well as for entrepreneurs. However, there are many challenges and obstacles one must face and overcome in order to be successful. Branding and marketing will have to drive these operations, 3rd party delivery programs should not be solely relied on and the concept has to make sure what they are serving travels well. The above is an oversimplified answer as the restaurant industry has many aspects that cannot be summarized in a few sentences.

For me it is either first thing in the morning (my preference) or late afternoon/early evening (Happy Hour timeframe). I stay away from lunch time networking functions though I will have a lunch meeting that includes networking components. You need to put in the effort and work to be successful in BNI. I know people that get 80-90% of their revenue through referrals generated at their BNI Chapter. It is old fashioned word of mouth marketing that is based on building relationships and trust. Mark

When I am not doing that, I am looking for client's and referral partners that will both strengthen my skills and company as well as provide potential value to my client's later on. However, we must build a foundation of trust amongst us prior to working together. Without trust, you cannot build relationships that will lead to referrals that will result in business.
