How We Got Started

It all started with our love for fine coffees. The First Choice and firstCafe lines were created for individuals with discriminating tastes and a true appreciation for the coffee bean varieties. These coffee beans are exclusively selected from the world's finest coffee plantations. In addition to our firstCHOICE and firstCafe lines of coffee, we also offer a complete line of nationally recognized gourmet roasters featuring Euro, Wolfgang Puck, Starbucks, Peet's coffees and so many more.

I never get into price wars either because the way I see it is if they will switch away from who they use now because I'm 10 cents lower on a package of coffee then they will eventually... I never get into price wars either because the way I see it is if they will switch away from who they use now because I'm 10 cents lower on a package of coffee then they will eventually switch away from me to somebody who is 10 cents lower on a pack of coffee. Sometimes I will ask them to provide me with something in writing to show that I am higher than my competitor And if they don't want to provide that then depending on the customer order size, I will either stick to my quote or go back to the drawing board and sharpen my pencil. There have been so many times when I have gone back to the Customer and had to tell them that the they have the best I can do and I have still won the sale. I do believe that there are customers out there that will see how far they can push. It's hard to convince a new customer of the quality of service when they haven't experienced our service yet, However, I feel that the way you treat the customer before they are your customer can hold more weight then service after the sale.

Thank you everyone for your responses, I was able to take something from each answer so far. I feel like we are in a transitioning time for office coffee. It used to be whatever the decision maker liked is what everyone had to accept and it's still that way to she extent. But with the millennial generation, businesses have had to come out of their comfort zone and allow input from the employees. So my question was more to find out if they are a business that still has a person or two in the business that decide or are they a business that would rather have a tasting and let others have input. I do several tastings a month, always a blind taste test with a maximum of 4 coffees. I ask people to rate each coffee on a scale if 1-5. The results are always fun.

Hi Tim, since we supply coffee to businesses, we have sample bags of different coffee's and I go in to the business with our sample bags of coffee and ask for the person that makes the decisions on the coffee. Sometimes I will call first and ask if I can drop off our samples and talk to them for 5 minutes about what we offer. It works out well both ways. Good Luck! A great resource is Reference USA.
