About Us

Since 1991, L&S Marketing has worked with Small Businesses and Non-Profit Organizations to provide a wide variety of services.

Our business has evolved from Marketing, PR & Writing services to include Web Site Design, Maintenance & Hosting, Trade Show Management & Staffing, Computer Training & Support and general Small Business Consulting.

We are a Small Business that helps other Small Businesses and have grown almost exclusively through referrals from current and former clients.

How We Got Started

L&S Marketing started when Sheldon Liebman was discussing Marketing and PR positions with a number of business contacts, none of whom could offer full-time employment. Instead, all of those contacts became L&S Marketing clients according to their specific needs and budgets.

The company soon expanded to include web services for its marketing clients, then to companies needing web services only. The next chapter started when marketing and web clients needed help with their computer hardware, software and networks, followed by clients that only needed computer services.

Today, L&S Marketing also helps clients with their Trade Show needs and general Small Business support.

In my business, I did a lot of traveling to see clients in person before the pandemic and have done absolutely zero since the end of February, 2020. What did I learn from that? Two things. First, that my strong relationships with my clients allowed us to keep working together during this crisis. Although we couldn't meet in person, they knew they could count on me to take care of them. Second, even with lower income over the past 18 months, eliminating my travel cost increased my bottom line. There are two ways to make more money - increase revenue or decrease costs. I was surprised that my business survived (and even thrived somewhat) because of lower costs. Think about what worked and what didn't for your business and find a way to use that moving forward.

Our 24 week period ended a few weeks ago, but Bank of America is still not ready to process this form so we have to wait. There is also a lot of "chatter" from people/pundits/politicians about waiting for Congress to provide more information about how to treat the loan proceeds and the associated expenses for tax purposes, which supports the idea of waiting. Finally, there is also a question of whether the income and/or expenses will be applied to 2020 or 2021 taxes, depending on when you applied and when your loan is forgiven, which also supports the idea of waiting for more guidance. It was great that this loan program was created and funded so quickly during the early days of the pandemic, but it seems like there are still a lot of unanswered questions about loan forgiveness. Ultimately, I think we will apply for forgiveness before the end of this year whether or not we receive more clarification.

What does your company do and what is your goal for this giveaway? Are you selling a specialized service or product or is it something anyone can use? Are you giving away your own product/service or something generic like an Amazon Gift Card? Before you figure out HOW to do the giveaway, you need to figure out WHY you are doing the giveaway. If you want to discuss this with someone, I'd be happy to have a conversation with you. Sheldon

Initially it was magnetic signs on the doors (which were stolen when the car was parked at a mall), but I ultimately settled on permanent lettering on the side or rear windows. My most unique opportunity came when my son and I went shopping at a nearby Target store early on a Sunday morning in 2003. As I was exiting the car, a gentleman came up to me and asked "You do web sites?" I eventually did 3 different web sites for him and he is still a customer! But perhaps it is not so unique after all - I have gained 2 additional customers in the past 3 years who also contacted me based on the signs.

Lynn, in my experience, the most important thing to remember when communicating with clients and patients is that it is about THEM, not about you. Rather than telling them what you can offer, find our what they need and let them know how you can help.  (more) Lynn, in my experience, the most important thing to remember when communicating with clients and patients is that it is about THEM, not about you. When people visit your site for the first time, it is a MARKETING tool first and a SALES tool second. You offer free content, but the first thing they see is a video sales pitch, which may cause them to leave. If you give your visitors an opportunity to learn more about what you do and see some examples before pushing them to contact you, they may be more likely to reach that decision on their own. - Sheldon Liebman, L&S Marketing, Anaheim, CA.
