If a person was going to attempt a hack there are countless opportunities that do not require hiding in the bushes of a air bnb.
They cannot connect to your computer unless you help them to. All phone calls like this are a scam. every word they say is a lie. Hang up and move on.

We back up weekly. So I was able to delete the corrupted data files and restore the backups. It really is that simple. If you keep you back ups up to date you cannot be hurt in that way. It is best not keep customers CC# on any online computer....so if you must keep records of sensitive data consider a computer that is offline, and of course back it up in case of media failure.
Large businesses have more volume and therefore more people involved in data storage but for small business these tips may help.

Some of us don't plan. We just go day to day following the orders of our Commander and chief while others go it alone and take credit for their success or failures, alone. When Jesus Christ is the centre of our lives and we are walking with him....the plan we are following is HIS. We just can't always know where He is leading but the faithful follow. His plan for each life, should we choose to accept it, is far, far superior to anything our feeble human insight can muster up. Like branches of a tree leading up or roots leading down there is only one path that leads to the highest/lowest point.

Slander me in public and cause me proveable loss and I will come after you with both guns blazing and use every resourse to prove your intent. I will protect my livelihood with everything I have....and if it means jail for you I will come and visit. When you have admission (response) that proves he tried to blackmail you....call the police or consider civil action. Collect evidence.Also the police can go undercover to nail him.A third option (and this takes guts but it is good for you) is to knock on his door with a witness and video the conversation. It could go something like.... I just would like to discuss this demand of a refund. First off can you tell me the reasons why you think you are entitled to a refund. is it still your intention to yelp me if I do not refund 50% of my bill.

At one point I would tell people if you like my computer and you like my service and you recommend me to a friend I will give you $50.That works way to well. One day I had a person call me up and tell me 3 people told him to check me out.
After a while I thought it appropriate to open... my idea of a doctors clinic, in a place where everyone could see it and find it easily...again high visibility. In days gone by that kind of marketing was called location, location, location. I bought a great location and over the years the property rose in value creating millionare status for its owner, apart from Business investments and other properties.
I took a certain amount of pride in pioneering things along the way. 1992 advertizing custom computers at actual wholesale cost and offering up a lifetime waranty at an extra cost. 1994 first dial up internet service in Barrie, 1996 first internet cafe in Barrie, 2001 central Ontario's first Hi speed wireless network, 2012 aquired retail dealer status for Xplornet and Shaw Direct. 2013 made top dealer in Canada for xplornet....and again in 2014. I did this so that everytime my phone rang I had a internet solution to offer. Currently we are very busy with 20 people full time. It has been awesome.
