If you spent a considerable amount of money at a well-established restaurant and the food was awful along with the service, would you actually say something?

As a co-owner of a restaurant myself, I would definitely ask to speak with Management to address a problem. The owners and management can't fix a problem they might not know about. I'd just make sure to address the problem proactively so the business has a chance to fix it before it becomes a real problem. More often than not, business owners appreciate the chance to better their business by receiving unbiased feedback regarding their customer's experiences.
