Building relationships is what we all do when we are in a business that relies largely on referrals. Building a relationship involves helping someone with a problem or doing something that helps them. A relationship also means getting to know each other.  Getting referrals from others is always the result of building a relationship, whether that relationship is built over time or is built in a matter of a few hours, the result is the same. We have done something for someone, something that they needed, and we have their trust so they refer us.  Hence we network to maintain and grow our business. Networking is not only through forums, such as this, but is mainly in our every day activities of doing business. And if we are honest with ourselves, the main goal is to obtain clients, doing something for someone or providing something they need that helps them is a personal benefit to us as a result of the main goal, Increasing clients and business growth.
