Then I thought about it some more and yes, there are things that should be common to closing every deal. A handshake, a thank you, an assurance you will meet the deadline. An indication you appreciate this relationship and that you give their needs great importance should be simple and sincere. A practiced individual will know the right words for each situation. Know how to shake hands. Many people are terrible at it. The most important thing to close a deal is to know when to close. Do not prattle on when the customer is already sold.

If you could only get one thing right, it should be the words. Once your words are published as an advertisement, you can't take them back. However, if the goal is to flaunt disaster rather than generate business, this advice can be ignored completely. (more) If you could only get one thing right, it should be the words. Accomplish your priority tasks and then check your email on your terms when appropriate to you. If it were urgent, your customer would call, not send a note and wait at their computer for a reply. You can still address your correspondence daily or multiple times a day, but if you jump on every note as soon as it arrives, think of how much time you waste each day. What can I do tomorrow that will have the biggest benefit for my company? Put it on the top of your list. Get on it first thing in the morning. Plan for tomorrow. When you plan for today, you are already behind.

Your offer of 50 free postings seems unusually generous and people will anticipate that there will come a time where the other shoe will drop. I would recommend reducing to 5 free postings or whatever minimum amount that will allow a poster to experience success using your service. Others have posted brilliant ideas on how to spread the word and use the public to enhance credibility, so I won't go there. I just want to express that if something is valuable, it has to be perceived as valuable, and pricing is a big part of that perception. Don't sell yourself short, and be patient with allowing people to catch on. It seems like you did not invest millions into this that you have to recuperate immediately, so take your time and enjoy watching your small snowball roll around until it's huge.

So far as unsolicited advertising goes, email is click, click gone. Printed material, I have to handle in order to throw away. This says better exposure. I also learned how to help others without pushing my own agenda in their lives. Along with coaching, I have learned how to allow people to own their success and not try to take credit. This has made me a better friend, colleague and parent. There is no ruler big enough to measure the value of that. Besides, as a mentoring relationship matures it becomes quite reciprocal.
