About Us

Are your worship community outreach efforts and growth stagnant, year after year? Are you starting a new non-profit with a lot of passion for a better world, but not a lot of organization-building "know-how" or resources? Are you struggling to showcase the warmth and vitality of your worship community or non-profit organization online or to navigate evolving tech options? Or do you find yourself often at a loss, in search of fresh gift ideas for those making your worship community, your family or your world better? Book a Call with Us, and Get on a Better Path!

BetterGodParents® connects godparents, parents, educators, congregations, clergy, businesses and non-profit organizations to support children and families, celebrate the godparent experience and build related ministry, programming, non-profit entities and outreach efforts to bolster well-being with a strategic eye on sustainability and growth.

Worship Communities -- Within houses of worship, our services enhance digital and local community outreach, build resources for ministries and programming, and strengthen related operations. We support faith communities in structuring systems for: more meaningful connections within their walls; impactful and relevant outreach to welcome newcomers and bolster communities; and regular engagement of godparents, families and youth. We move houses of worship from disconnected community interactions and passive worship service streaming to strategically positioning their comprehensive local and digital presence for more meaningful engagement. By building godparent ministries with us, houses of worship strengthen their outreach and enduringly reclaim these important relationships to support the spiritual growth of children and families. By building youth ministries with us, houses of worship actively engage kids and teens, supporting the development of their character, behaviors, and decisions through the lens of faith. Outreach grows through thoughtful, measured steps; Book a Call with Us, and Get On The Path!

Who Are Godparents? -- Godparents accept the charge of guiding the spiritual development and well-being of children. In this role, they become a vital part of the support network for families and for the next generation within houses of worship and communities. The core of this charge is carried out after the ceremony, a period in which most houses of worship rarely engage godparents. We surveyed 500 clergy in our home state to explore communication with godparents, and 2/3rds of the respondents reported no communication with godparents after the ceremony. Godparent relationships have evolved in recent years consistent with changes in family dynamics and faith practices. Divorce, family relocations, and denominational changes, just to name a few, challenge godparent relationships. So, through a range of venues, BetterGodParents® offers resources and support for godparents to help navigate today's godparent relationship challenges. Book a Call with Us and explore whether godparents engagement can strengthen your worship community outreach or just get answers to questions & challenges within your godparent relationships!

Godparent's Day -- BetterGodParents® prepares houses of worship for annual Godparent's Day celebrations on the third Sunday in July. For the tenth consecutive year, we have successfully passed the Godparent's Day Resolution within the Chicago City Council, adding a day dedicated to the celebration of godparent relationships to the City calendar. Worship service and post-service planning services are complimentary to support houses of worship in welcoming godparents on Godparent's Day. We direct godparents to registered houses of worship and promote sponsoring businesses on Godparent's Day, on the third Sunday in July.

Businesses looking to refresh customer relationships mid-summer are encouraged to participate in Godparent's Day by extending a hearty welcome, promotions, sales, etc., during Godparent's Day weekend. Business Participants may be profiled in our publications, augmenting the reach of their products and services offered during Godparent's Day weekend. Register with Us every April to welcome or celebrate godparents on Godparent's Day weekend in July!

Non-Profit Organizations -- Over the years, our faith communities have experienced challenges within their 501c3 entities, as well. We have answered the call to support challenges like donor retention and engagement, grant research and writing, website design and content messaging, event planning and community outreach, and so much more! We have adapted those capabilities to develop an accelerator for non-profit organizations. LaunchPad is our new customized, coaching service for innovative, newly-formed non-profit organizations to support early strategy and prioritization of infrastructure, relationships, skills and resources. LaunchPad was conceived to support the non-profit sector, doing the work to nurture individual well-being, strong families and communities, and a healthy, safe and just world. Reach Out to Us a info@bettergodparents.com to explore ways to create sustainable growth for your new non-profit organization!

Our Store -- Finally, the BetterGodParents® Gift & Ministry Store carries online gifts and mementos to celebrate the godparent experience and life's joyful milestones, within families and worship communities as well as among friends and colleagues. How We Got Started

Two docs met, married and settled in Chicago to start their new life. They scrambled to fulfill their godparent responsibilities, now for a total of nine. Talking to godparents and families far and wide, and clergy across denominational divides, they gleaned a better understanding of godparent relationships from all sides. So, they began to research, promote and support the godparent experience from inside faith's walls and then beyond, nurturing the health and well-being of children and families, for stronger communities and a more connected respectful planet with every dawn.

(more) I am divinely inspired to bolster godparent relationships. Godparents are enduring relationships, practiced across many faiths all over the world. They guide the spiritual health and well-being of children and support families. In caring for our own godchildren, my husband and I noticed that support for the relationship (after the ceremony) was scarce. With all the confusion about the future of organized religion, it seemed strange that there was a paucity of consistent support (especially within houses of worship) for those divinely charged to carry the torch on the faith journey for upcoming generations. I believe that we were chosen for this work, called to use our skills and hearts to amplify the message and understanding of the unique contributions and challenges within these relationships;  in responding to His call, we have been able to grow awareness, support and integration of the godparent experience through building godparent and youth ministries, and by establishing a widely recognized day on the third Sunday in July, devoted to Worshiping, Embracing, Giving, & Serving in celebration of godparent relationships.

In some cases, they may not be managing their payables properly. Regardless of the reasons for late payments, at the end of the day, you have rendered a service and not been paid...not good business for you. A payment structure that provides either ( front-loaded) staged payments, OR a meaningful financial incentive  for compliance with a payment structure that front loads part of your fee may improve cash flow for you. Alternatively, a "preferred" rate can be offered for entities that pay on time.
